Friday, October 19, 2001 - 02:45 pm Help keep a dream alive. In 1994 the association, commonly known as the Ranch or Pleasant Valley Ranch was created. The reason for forming this association is stated in the following which comes from the association charter. PURPOSE The abandonment of true principles and righteousness, as taught by God and used in establishing the U.S. Constitution, has brought us all to a crisis. A majority of people are now, unwittingly, upholding secret combinations. These combinations have infiltrated most every government and society in order to usurp the freedoms and rights of the people for their own gain. They issue forth a flood of filth that threatens to swallow up the family and its righteous institutions. Governments and their laws, which were bequeathed to us as noble garments of protection against these very abuses, have been corrupted, and are now used against us to fulfill the desires of these combinations. In an abbreviated history of some of the oldest inhabitants of the American continents, we find some interesting references to these combinations: "Wherefore, O ye Gentiles, it is wisdom in God that these things should be shown unto you, that thereby ye may repent of your sins, and suffer not that these murderous combinations shall get above you, which are built up to get power and gain . . . to your overthrow and destruction if ye shall suffer these things to be. Wherefore, the Lord commandeth you, when ye shall see these things come among you that ye shall awake to a sense of your awful situation, because of this secret combination which shall be among you; . . . For it cometh to pass that whoso buildeth it up seeketh to overthrow the freedom of all lands, nations, and countries; and it bringeth to pass the destruction of all people, for it is built up by the devil, who is the father of all lies;" (Ether 8:23-25) And from that same record comes this bit of hope: "May the Lord preserve his people in righteousness and in holiness of heart, that they may cause to be felled to the earth all who shall seek to slay them because of power and secret combinations ..." (3 Nephi 4:29) So it is that our present condition of society has served to awaken many of us to the sense of our awful situation. Indeed, there has been presented before us a contrast to what was actually intended for us by our Creator. We have felt the stirring of the Lord's spirit and we long for the awakening of a righteous people. Over one hundred and fifty years ago it was said: "We should leave Babylon. Twenty-four hours of improvement now, are worth as much as a year a hundred years ago. The small lights that God has given are sufficient to lead us out of Babylon: when we get out, we shall have the greater light." (HC Vol 2 Chapter 22 Page 305) The forefathers of the Americas Indian tribes, once lived in a social climate much like our own. One of them being a good member of his church acted upon those principles: "And it came to pass also, that he caused the title of liberty to be hoisted upon every tower which was in all the land, which was possessed by the Nephites: and thus Moroni planted the standard of liberty among the Nephites. (Alma 46:36) And he said: Surely God shall not suffer that we, who are despised because we take upon us the name of Christ, shall be trodden down and destroyed, until we bring it upon us by our own transgressions. (Alma 46:18) . . . behold, whosoever will maintain this title upon the land, let them come forth in the strength of the Lord, and enter into a covenant that they will maintain their rights, and their religion, that the Lord God may bless them. (Alma 46:20) Against this background, for us, there is no doubt that it is absolutely essential to develop an association that will result in prepared individuals, families, communities and nations. Thus, we altogether will be able to meet the crisis and devastations that are soon to sweep our lands. An alternative system of living, based on true principles, is one of cooperation and only exists when every man esteems his brother as himself. The scriptures clearly speak of this as the royal and perfect law, The "Law of Liberty": "But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed ... [and thus] if ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well . . . So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty." (James 1:25, 2:8-13) In essence, the perfect law of liberty is to love your neighbor. The Standard of Liberty that is to be raised up encompasses the social, economic and political spectrum and spiritual principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This Organization is not another church. It is a community of like minded people, who are being moved upon by the Spirit for the building up of a better society. This community seeks to apply the fundamental principles of social, economic, spiritual and political truths, by the development of a strategic plan for the preserving and bearing away of the righteous principles, the U.S. Constitution, and God's remnant people. This system will empower us to free ourselves from the powers causing the collapse of the family and our current society. Then those which are organized and living by the application of these correct principles can continue towards the yet higher principles and knowledge required to gain a pure heart and establish the Zion of Jesus Christ. With this in mind, we feel it imperative to organize ourselves to accomplish the following: -- Establish a community based on the correct relationship of economic-social-spiritual-political powers and principles, which will enable our families to fill their proper role: -- Live as God intended us to do, in a system of combined effort and cooperation, so that we might not only incur His blessings, but that also in a time of chaos and destruction, have His hand of protection over us. -- Individually seek for God's righteous will to be done in our own lives, that His kingdom might come. And obtain the sanctification of our hearts, which qualifies the individual for the society of Zion. -- Defuse the Babylonian systems of central controls which are being used to gain greater and greater control over us, so that this community can govern itself and interact with others according to the principles of liberty and virtue; This community will lift the hope, that this standard of liberty and brotherhood will be raised anew among the nations of the earth. And therefore seek to use the collective energy and the pure thoughts of sanctified hearts in unified faith, hope, and charity. All in preparation for the time in which the Lord has set his hand again, to recover his people; a time during which he shall cleanse the nations and bring about a true Zion on the American continent by the restoration of His perfect order in preparation for the establishment of Zion in Israel. It is an imperative duty that we owe to our forefathers and all the rising generation, and to all the pure in heart - that we expend our lives in bringing to light the truths and cause of Zion; which, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the traditional teachings of our forefathers such as Buddhism and the forefathers of Americas Indians all being basically the same, has pointed us toward. WE FIRMLY STATE, that we do not seek to become, nor are we, another church. But rather invite all good men that have like desires, so being moved upon by the Spirit of God, to join hands in a unified effort in establishing righteousness in the earth by the application of pure economic, social, spiritual and political principles. "THESE THINGS should then be attended to with great earnestness. Let no man count them as small things; for there is much which lieth in futurity, pertaining to the [nations], which depends upon these things." (TPJS Pg 146) And blessed are they who shall seek to bring forth the cause of Zion, for they shall have the gift and the power of the Holy Ghost. -- Vision and Proposal -- BRING forth and establish the cause of Zion; ASSEMBLE the righteous outcasts of babylon; and provide a sanctuary, for the righteous remnant of the people of God. FOR THE PURPOSE of releasing through the truths of physical, temporal, mental and spiritual sanctification, individuals from the bondage of disobedience to the pure precepts of the eternity and that spirit which has so strongly riveted upon their hearts, the shackles of the false creeds of their fathers, who have inherited lies, and have filled the world with confusion. -- Mission Statement -- WHEREFORE, we seek to provide and nurture an environment for the instruction and development of correct economic, social, spiritual and political principles of self-government and liberty; and opportunities to investigate and demonstrate those principles in an alternative system of the living, thereby: -- Having sufficient for the needs and just wants of all, that there be no poor among them; -- Allowing for the expansion of the association to include the poor, weak, and repentant followers of righteousness; -- Making contributions to the unassociated poor and the needy; -- Becoming equal in earthly things so we can be equal in obtaining heavenly things; -- Learning to rely on God, using his truths that each individual may become independent of all things beneath the celestial kingdom; -- Seeking to establish an environment inviting divine participation and offering hope and example to all people. As stated above we need help to keep this dream alive. With the threat of war, and meriads of natural disasters, our goal is to create a place of refuge for the pure in heart to flee to. We have 100 acres of land located in central Idaho, nestled in the mountains with an abundant growing season and mild climate. There are only 3 things that we lack. 1. Good people to help build the dream. 2. Materials for building shelters, clothes, food stores, medicines, etc. 3. Probably the most important is money. We are facing a situation where we will have to sell part or all of the ranch to pay the debt without help. But more importantly we are facing an immediate $40,000 loan payment. If you could help please send contibutions to Pleasant Valley Ranch HC 66 Box 249 Kooskia, Idaho 83539 If you have questions or comments E-mail us at lmort@cybrquest.com. Thankyou and may the good Lord bless us all Please send this on to everyone that you can think of.

Friday, October 26, 2001 - 11:46 pm Not to be too critical/skeptical but, I have some questions about your mission statement: "WHEREFORE, we seek to provide and nurture an environment for the instruction and development of correct [see below] principles" economic: "we are facing an immediate $40,000 loan payment." Why would you get yourself into a situation where you have "an immediate $40,000 loan payment" due? It doesn't seem like a correct economic principal to allow yourself to go so deep into debt. Also, 40 acres @ $3,000 comes to $120,000!!! Quite a bit more than the $40,000 you have due. What gives???? Or are you going to "donate" the profits to the "poor" who join so they can be "equal" with you????? social: "Having sufficient for the needs and just wants of all, that there be no poor among them; Becoming equal in earthly things so we can be equal in obtaining heavenly things;" A noble idea, but it sounds too much like socialism/communism to me. What if the "poor" later refuse to contribute or feign weakness as an excuse not to contribute? Will you/others be blackmailed with your compassion to continue to support them? Where do you draw the line?? FYI, I'm familiar with the difference between communism and "the united order" in theory. These are just practical questions for when someone decides there is no difference and is ready to take advantage of your kindness. spiritual: "Learning to rely on God, using his truths that each individual may become independent of all things beneath the celestial kingdom; Seeking to establish an environment inviting divine participation and offering hope and example to all people." Truth according to who? Do those that desire to "join" this group have to subscribe to a particular (LDS) faith? If so, what if after joining, they decide they don't want to believe in that doctrine anymore? Would they be ostrasized(sp) or not treated equally? political: "principles of self-government and liberty" Your view of social principles seem to be contrary to the principles of self-government. How can anyone learn to be self-reliant if they are receiving handouts so they can be "equal" with others that work harder or have planned smarter. This rewards laziness, penalizes achievement, and teaches reliance on others. Again, sounds like socialism/communism. I'm sure these questions/statements sound pretty harsh, but I think they are legitimate questions for someone who is "buying into" (pun intended) your mission statement and pose them for both you and those interested in your offer to consider. Things change. People change. Ideas change. Times change. But it's not easy to change your mind once you've made a purchase/commitment like this. It's good that you are up front about your dreams. It sounds like a good dream. Reality can be a real b**ch sometimes though!!!

Friday, January 25, 2002 - 08:08 am Imort, Your ideas in principle are very inspiring. However there are a few points about your quotes that have troubled me. You refered to the zion of Jesus, and you made reference to America as the new land of zion. Where exactly did you pick this up from. As knowledge goes which you probably have a lot of, the place of zion will again be Africa. They were the original people and will be so again, after God has cleansed the land of all the rich, fat and greedy, not to mention the impure. To think that the heads of government really don't care about you or God, all they want is your money, which is why good people rarly prosper in high places especially in the west. What a crazy world this is, we are all supposedly trying to save the free world and in the mean time we are destroying the real world and its people. Anyone who really beleives the free world to be the west needs to re-read the principles of God, what we are and not meant to do. I'm sure killing and raping and getting richer off the death of civilians is in the do not list. I could be wrong, maybe I'll be judged for it! Morpheus_original.

Friday, February 01, 2002 - 10:26 pm I was just trying to point out some potential problems with their goals, both for them and those who might be interested in joining them. I certainly don't mean any offense, but I think those involved need to really think about long term consequenses before making such a commitment.
